Casual After Hours Residential Support Workers<\/strong><\/div>\n
Indigenous Women\u2019s Healing Centre operates long term residential safe houses for Indigenous Women and Children who have experienced family violence and\/or systemic neglect.<\/div>\n

Currently, we require the services of skilled After-Hours and Overnight Support Staff<\/strong> who will be responsible for monitoring and supporting resident activities, ensuring the safety and security of residents and children, and enforcing house policies during the evenings, overnights and on weekends.<\/p>\n

Qualifications and Skills for the Position:<\/p>\n

\u00b7  A certificate in human services with 1 year of work experience in a related field and\/or a  minimum of  grade 10 with 2 years of work experience in the helping field;
\u00b7  Experience working in residential setting an asset;
\u00b7  Experience in documentation and logging;
\u00b7  Knowledge and Awareness of the impact of systemic issues affecting women and children;
\u00b7  Knowledge of Indigenous Culture and traditional ways of healing;
\u00b7  Knowledge of Community Resources;
\u00b7  Excellent people skills;
\u00b7  Good conflict resolution skills;
\u00b7  Must have CPR\/1st<\/sup> Aid Training Certificate or be willing to obtain certificate;
\u00b7  Must have Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check or be willing to obtain them;
\u00b7  Ability to work independently and enforce Centre\u2019s policies and protocols;
\u00b7  A valid driver\u2019s license and access to a vehicle is considered an asset;
\u00b7  Ability to speak an Indigenous Language is considered an asset.<\/p>\n
