Services and supports such as traditional teachings, one on one counselling and group supports are provided by the outreach\/support worker to residents.&nbsp;Memengwaa residents can also access supports and programs such as the Children\u2019s, Addiction and Trauma counselling services and Learning Program through the IHWC.<\/p>\n<p>All Programs are delivered from an Indigenous perspective and include Indigenous peoples\u2019 history and the use of traditional ceremonies and healing ways (Smudging, Sweats, Sundance, Fasting, Vision Quests, Medicine picking. &nbsp;Elders are involved in all aspects of program delivery and service. We also respect all Indigenous world views and ways of practicing spirituality.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>Mission:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Memengwaa Place provides safe, affordable housing in an independent living setting to Indigenous women and their children that promotes self-sufficiency, nurturance and healing by creating supportive networks in the community<\/p>\n<p><strong>Memengwaa Place provides the following programs and Services:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Protective, affordable, longer term housing promoting self sufficiency<\/li>\n<li>Outreach and follow-up services by Indigenous Women\u2019s Healing Centre staff for specialized programs and counselling<\/li>\n<li>Life skill building<\/li>\n<li>One year residency<\/li>\n<li>Resident Circle<\/li>\n<li>Community Healing Circle<\/li>\n<li>Children\u2019s Circle<\/li>\n<li>Referrals to community resources<\/li>\n<li>Individual counselling<\/li>\n<li>Seven sacred and traditional teachings, including sweats, pipe, drumming, singing and feast ceremonies<\/li>\n<li>Volunteer opportunities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><br \/>Who can live at Memengwaa Place?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Women and their children committed to living a lifestyle free of abuse (physical, emotional, sexual, or verbal)<\/li>\n<li>Women and their children who are in the process of healing and want to live in a cooperative, caring , &nbsp;non-violent and alcohol\/drug free environment<\/li>\n<li>Women who need a protective and supportive environment to move towards living independently in the community<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>How do I apply?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Only woman who have been residing in our long-term supportive living program can apply within to transition into our 2nd stage housing.
